Diskuze v psychologii 2024, 6(1):26-36 | DOI: 10.5507/dvp.2025.004
In this article, we present selected findings from a qualitative study focused on adolescents in children's homes and their perception of psychological and social support provided by their environment. Specifically, we examine caregivers, who were most frequently mentioned as providers of practical support, less often emotional support, and who overall emerged as key figures influencing the overall well-being of adolescents in this setting. We identify the traits and abilities of both favored and unfavored caregivers from the perspective of these adolescents. Additionally, we outline experts' views on the dynamics of the adolescent-caregiver relationship....

This study focuses on evaluating self-concept in individuals with neuromuscular diseases using the standardized Self-Concept Questionnaire (DOS-36). The research sample consisted of 29 respondents with various types of neuromuscular diseases aged 22-65 years. Results showed that the highest average score was recorded in the area of social adaptability (55.76 points), while the lowest was in physical appearance (39.17 points). More than half of the respondents (51.72%) showed low scores in physical appearance and one-third (34.48%) in meaning and self-realization. Another objective was to determine whether CT dispositions predicts AS. The research sample consisted of 110 psychology students. Personal AS was measured using the CLEI questionnaire (Newton et al., 2008), while achievement AS was assessed through the grade point average...

Diskuze v psychologii 2023, 5(2):32-36 | DOI: 10.5507/dvp.2025.001
In recent years, there has been a rise in parental overinvolvement, prompting the need for a systematic examination of this phenomenon. This project aims to explore parents' subjective perception of overinvolvement and its connection to the well-being of both parents and their adolescent children. While existing studies have focused on the origins and impacts of involvement, there is a lack of research on parents' subjective perceptions. The project has three main objectives: 1) To identify parents' subjective perception of both involvement and overinvolvement through semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis. 2) To investigate the perceived...

Eva Jendrulková
Diskuze v psychologii 2023, 5(2):16-22 | DOI: 10.5507/dvp.2023.014
This paper is an overview of phenomenological perspectives that deal with the experience of time during schizophrenia. The issue of time for schizophrenic individuals has been a central theme in the field of phenomenological psychopathology for a number of years and has roots in the philosophical tradition of phenomenology-especially in the ideas of Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. The role of time for schizophrenic individuals was further accentuated by Minkowski, Kimura and Jaspers in their works. In the present study emphasis is placed on the viewpoint of implicit temporal consciousness from the perspectives of both phenomenology and phenomenological...

As a form of support for a family of a child with a disability at an early age, early intervention is key for the life of the family and the child. The state of the individual with a disability is complicated - the more complicated it is, the more it generally requires an interdisciplinary, or rather transdisciplinary approach - the intervention of professionals from many fields (medicine, psychology, special education, social services, and others). This text presents the results of the research dealing with the functioning of early intervention in the Czech Republic and Finland and its comparison, specifically on the topic of interdisciplinary cooperation....
