As a form of support for a family of a child with a disability at an early age, early intervention is key for the life of the family and the child. The state of the individual with a disability is complicated - the more complicated it is, the more it generally requires an interdisciplinary, or rather transdisciplinary approach - the intervention of professionals from many fields (medicine, psychology, special education, social services, and others). This text presents the results of the research dealing with the functioning of early intervention in the Czech Republic and Finland and its comparison, specifically on the topic of interdisciplinary cooperation....

Diskuze v psychologii 2023, 5(1):17-27 | DOI: 10.5507/dvp.2023.009
The aim of the study was to find out which factors influence women´s birth experience. A mixed design research was performed using two questionnaires; first questionnaire was filled out by women during pregnancy and the second one by the same women 3-8 weeks postpartum. The qualitative part of the research consisted of one open-ended question about the birth experience. We found that the number of birth interventions (rs = -0.498, p < 0.000), and the amount of obstetric violence (rs = -0.298, p < 0.000) negatively influenced birth satisfaction and skin-to-skin contact after birth positively influenced birth satisfaction...

Diskuze v psychologii 2023, 5(1):28-39 | DOI: 10.5507/dvp.2023.011
The aim of the study was to map attitudes towards nanotechnology. We were interested in how different factors interfere in shaping attitudes, focusing on the impact of the level of awareness and trust in information by experts. We explored gender differences in perceptions of the risks and benefits of nanotechnology, and the role played by religiosity. We collected data through a questionnaire and focus groups. 189 participants took part in the quantitative part of the research and 18 participants took part in the qualitative part. The results of the research confirmed the association between trust towards information from experts and attitudes towards...

Despite the increasing prevalence of neurodevelopmental disorders in young children, potential intersex differences in children's precursors of neurodevelopmental disorders and behavioral difficulties are ambiguous. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between gender and the manifestations of specific behaviour in two-year-old children. The study population consisted of 1853 2-year-old children whose parent (caregiver) completed the Method for Monitoring Development of Psychomotor Function and Screening for Developmental Difficulties for the 11th Preventive Examination in Primary Care, S-PMV11. Findings showed a trend of significantly...
