Compulsive exercise (CE) represents a complex phenomenon characterized by rigid adherence to exercise regimens, the prioritization of physical activity over other areas of life, and pronounced psychological manifestations such as feelings of guilt, anxiety, and obsessive thoughts. The present research project responds to the current shift in the conceptualization of behavioral addictions and aims to clarify the etiopathogenesis of excessive exercise through an integrative psychodynamic model. The study seeks to determine whether personality organization types, operationalized according to Kernberg's model, and specific styles of insecure attachment predict the risk of excessive exercise.
