Kompulzivní cvičení: jeho souvislosti s osobnostními rysy a dopadem na duševní zdraví

Kompulzivní cvičení (CE) představuje komplexní fenomén, který se vyznačuje rigidním dodržováním cvičebních režimů, prioritizací fyzické aktivity nad ostatními životními oblastmi a výraznými psychologickými projevy, jako jsou pocity viny, úzkosti a obsedantní myšlenky. Tento článek se zaměřuje na multidimenzionální charakter kompulzivního cvičení, jeho behaviorální a afektivní aspekty a především na souvislosti s osobnostními rysy, jako jsou perfekcionismus, neuroticismus, narcismus, nízké sebevědomí a obsedantně-kompulzivní rysy. Dále je diskutována komorbidita s duševními poruchami, zejména s poruchami příjmu potravy, obsedantně-kompulzivní poruchou (OCD), tělesnou dysmorfií a úzkostně-depresivními poruchami. Compulsive Exercise: Relationships with Personality Traits and Implications on Mental Health

Compulsive exercise (CE) represents a complex phenomenon characterized by rigid adherence to exercise regimens, the prioritization of physical activity over other areas of life, and pronounced psychological manifestations such as feelings of guilt, anxiety, and obsessive thoughts. This article focuses on the multidimensional nature of compulsive exercise, its behavioral and affective components, and, in particular, its associations with personality traits such as perfectionism, neuroticism, narcissism, low self-esteem, and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Furthermore, the comorbidity with mental disorders-especially eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder, and anxiety-depressive disorders-is discussed.
