PT Journal AU Michalove, Z Bacikova, M TI Parent perception of overinvolvement and its connection to parent and adolescent well-being SO Diskuze v psychologii PY 2025 BP 32 EP 36 VL 5 IS 2 DI 10.5507/dvp.2025.001 DE parental overinvolvement; well-being; vignette methodology AB In recent years, there has been a rise in parental overinvolvement, prompting the need for a systematic examination of this phenomenon. This project aims to explore parents' subjective perception of overinvolvement and its connection to the well-being of both parents and their adolescent children. While existing studies have focused on the origins and impacts of involvement, there is a lack of research on parents' subjective perceptions. The project has three main objectives: 1) To identify parents' subjective perception of both involvement and overinvolvement through semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis. 2) To investigate the perceived relationship between overinvolvement and the well-being of parents, adolescents, and the parent-child relationship using experimental vignette methodology and analysis of variance. 3) To create informational material for parents. The objectives will be achieved by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. ER
