The partial goal of this work was to map the aspects that led to the search for help and to clarify the gains and losses of the alternative forms of communication used. The research group included a total of 5 female respondents (2 with bulimia nervosa, 3 with anorexia nervosa) and 2 experts working at the crisis helpline dealing with eating disorders (hereafter PPP), with whom we conducted semi-structured interviews. We identified a total of 3 main categories of factors that affect PPP during this period. Individual factors are related to social support, to the setting of the regime, and to the excessive use of social networks. At the same time, we also managed to identify the factors that preceded the search for professional help. The research was carried out on the territory of the Slovak Republic.
